I love poetry. Never been able to write a poem worth a penny though... probably one of my least favorite writing assignments in school actually. I had to write a haiku in 3rd grade and I wrote something dreadful about clouds and the blue sky. Anyways, I have always admired poets and their skillful and clever writing. I have many favorites, but this one's been stuck in my head for some reason, and Lewis Carroll is a genius.
THE CROCODILE
by: Lewis Carroll (1832-1898)
- How doth the little crocodile
- Improve his shining tail,
- And pour the waters of the Nile
- On every golden scale!
-
- How cheerfully he seems to grin!
- How neatly spread his claws,
- And welcomes little fishes in
- With gently smiling jaws!
